ABOUT YOUR PRACTITIONER
Megan Burt DIP.TM DIP.AC MBAcC RCHM
My name is Megan Burt and I was born in Yorkshire although
I have lived in Scotland for approximately 25 years,
mostly in Edinburgh but also Perthshire and the Borders.
I studied Therapeutic Massage in Glasgow (1991) which
marked the beginning of a long period of training in
complementary health. I then studied Acupuncture and
Chinese herbs in York (6 years) whilst working as a
therapeutic masseuse.
I now integrate all three skills resulting in an effective
beneficial blend of holistic treatments tailor made
for each individual. I am a member of the British Acupuncture
Council ensuring vigilant, high standards of practice.
I am also on the register of Chinese herbal medicine.
In 2002 I went to China and worked in a hospital where
Acupuncture, Herbs and Massage were practiced alongside
Western Medicine (pharmaceuticals etc). It was quite
an experience to witness the integration of both East
and West all under one roof. At the time I was there,
pills were regarded as something fast, efficient and
almost magic. I think some wondered why I wanted to
learn something from them so old fashioned. Interesting
to hear things from a different perspective!
At present I practise in Edinburgh and the Borders
(see contact details for clinics). Outside work my main
interest is in Art. I am currently studying for a degree
at the Edinburgh College of Art.
